As Product Enterprise Ltd we had been developing a range of 12" Action figures of characters from Classic Dr Who starting with the 4th Doctor and a Cyberman from 'Revenge of the Cybermen'.
These were originally displayed nearly two years ago at various trade shows but we had always been hesitant about moving forward into production.
We had always felt that while an action figure would be great, the only way to fully capture all the detail and subtlety would be to produce the figures as polystone sculpts. This was further enforced when we saw the stunning sculpting quality of Andrew Teal and realised this was the only way to go if we were to keep all of the incredible detail.
Also, being Limited production runs would allow us to produce far more characters in the range than would have been possible if producing them as action figures.
It was decided that the design of the base for the figures should depict an iconic image from the Classic Series. The overall shape mirrors the Tardis console and features the 'Seal of Rassilon' on the top. The side panels are reminiscent of the classic diamond logo.
