Production Diary - Rescue Eagle
The RESCUE EAGLE is uniquely distinctive within the TRANSPORTER fleet. Vibrant red striping on its central pod marks it out instantly making it certainly the most striking of the EAGLE TRANSPORTERS.
As our Studio Replica will feature a displayable interior, it was decided to create a more accurate Command Module interior and authentic pilot figures.
The interior is constructed in sections. Original Gemini pilot figures are used as the basis for the newly realised versions. (Note: small Eagle logo on pilot left arm WILL NOT feature in production as this is unique to Season 2 spacesuits.)
The main passenger pod is a deceptively complex shape with many intricate curves and angles. Getting any one of these measurements incorrect would impact significantly on the final look.
Using hours of accumulated data and measurements, the passenger pod was created as a 3D CAD model allowing us to finesse and enhance before construction of the tooling model.
Once created, the various parts are assembled into an extremely authentic PASSENGER POD.
Detailing using kits parts are added. Again, during the production of both seasons of the show parts fell off, were blown off, lost during 'crash landings' etc. - therefore there is a host of production photographs depicting variation in detail. The aim with our EAGLE STUDIO REPLICAS is to represent the 'model shop fresh' look at the start of Season 1.
