"STEED BECOMES AN ACTION FIGURE - EMMA'S STILL A DOLL!"

Every license we obtained as a company over 25 years was because we were huge fans of the show. We wanted to create the kind of Toys and Collectibles we would have killed to have had as a kid at the time.

Possible my favourite show of all time is The Avengers. (No not THOSE Avengers!)

If you're reading this, I don't need to tell you how wonderful, witty, clever, and downright groundbreaking this TV series was.

Licencing of older, non-commercial properties could be a minefield to navigate. Often it was unclear just who held the current licencing rights, in fact, often rights were shared between different parties.

No licencing deals had been done at the time of the show regarding actors' likenesses, so this had to be navigated independently with both living actors and the estates of those no longer with us.

In the case of The Avengers, licencing was an absolute pleasure with all parties thrilled to be involved. A great pleasure also to be in communication with both Patrick and Diana. A fanboys dream.

This was the early days of high end 12inch figures, with limited manufacturing processes available to produce the level of paint detail and scaled tailoring. However, we were delighted with what we released to the market - firstly a black and white two figure pack featuring Steed and Mrs Peel in her classic leather cat suit and both figures with sound chips in the bases featuring actual dialogue from the show! The second featured costumes and accessories depicted in the classic season 5 episode "The Hidden Tiger".
